Add Training Vault to your phone
Put the Training Vault icon on your Home Screen for quick access.
Updated September 20, 2026
This is the website version of Fire & EMS Training Vault. You do not need to search the App Store or Google Play to add it. Adding the icon does not buy a subscription.

New to Training Vault?
Create your account with an email you can access. Your 10-day trial needs no payment card and does not automatically become a paid subscription. Check Junk or Spam if the verification email is missing. Already registered? Sign in with the same account on every device.
iPhone or iPad
- Open Safari on your phone or iPad.
- Go to fireemstrainingvault.com — add the main app, not this instructions page.
- Tap Share (the square with an upward arrow). Depending on your Safari layout, you may first need to tap the More (…) menu.
- Scroll through the options and tap Add to Home Screen.
- If you see Open as Web App, leave it turned on. Tap Add.
- Go to your Home Screen and tap the Training Vault icon. Sign in with the same email you already use.
Android or Samsung
- Open Google Chrome on your phone.
- Go to fireemstrainingvault.com.
- Tap the three dots (⋮) beside the address bar.
- Choose Install and create shortcut, then Install. Some versions instead show Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Follow the confirmation on your screen. If your phone asks where to place the icon, choose Add.
- Open Training Vault from your Home Screen or app list and sign in with your existing account.
Set up notifications — on each phone
Open Training Vault from your Home Screen icon and sign in. On iPhone or iPad, use that icon for setup, rather than a Safari tab.
1. Allow this phone to receive alerts
- Open Reminders in the app.
- Under Notifications on this device, tap Set up notifications or Connect this browser.
- Tap Allow notifications if shown, then choose Allow on the phone's permission prompt.
- Look for This device is subscribed. You still need to link it to your account below.
2. Enable reminders and verify this phone
- Scroll to Automatic renewal alerts. Check the reminder timezone; leave it alone if it is correct.
- Tap Enable automatic reminders.
- Tap Verify this device. An eight-digit code will arrive as a phone notification, not an email.
- If no banner appears, open your phone's notification list. Enter the code in Code from your notification and tap Confirm device. Codes expire after ten minutes.
After confirmation, the page should show automatic reminders enabled and at least one verified device. Keep verification codes private.
3. Send a test
- Tap Test in two minutes.
- Leave the app or lock your phone and wait about two minutes. Network or device settings can delay delivery.
- Look for a Fire & EMS Training Vault scheduled test notification.
Receiving the test confirms this phone can receive background alerts. A message saying “accepted for delivery” in the app alone does not confirm the phone displayed it.
4. Choose what you want reminders for
- Open Credentials and add or edit a certification or card.
- Enter the Expiration date, check Enable renewal reminders, and choose the reminder months.
- Tap Save credential or Save changes.
Reminders are scheduled for the first day of selected months in the expiration year, before the expiration date, plus expiration day. Due reminders are checked starting at 9 a.m. in your saved timezone. Credentials with no expiration date do not generate renewal alerts. Update the saved date after renewing a credential.
If the notification does not arrive
- iPhone/iPad: open the installed Home Screen app. In your phone's Settings → Notifications, find Training Vault and check Allow Notifications. Check whether Focus or Do Not Disturb is silencing alerts. Web push needs iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later.
- Android/Samsung: check Chrome's notification settings for fireemstrainingvault.com and your phone's notification permission for Chrome or the installed app. Check Do Not Disturb as well.
- Connection or synchronization issue: return to Reminders. Use the displayed retry/reload option, or Retry synchronization under Automatic renewal alerts. Then try the scheduled test again.
- Code missing or expired: tap Verify this device again after at least one minute and use the latest code.
- Still stuck: contact support with your phone type and the on-screen error. Do not send the verification code.
Repeat setup for every phone or computer that should receive notifications. Your account must have trial, free tester, or active paid access for automatic credential reminders. Browser and operating-system settings can affect delivery; keep track of important deadlines independently.

Optional: add dates to your calendar
In Reminders, choose Download calendar reminders, then import the downloaded file into your calendar and check its alert settings. Downloading alone does not add events. Calendar copies do not update automatically: remove old events and import updated ones after changing a credential. Calendar alerts and app push notifications are separate, so enabling both may produce two alerts.
Pause or turn off alerts
Pause automatic reminders pauses your account's automatic credential alerts. Turn off on this device turns off this device's push subscription. You can also change notification permission in phone settings. None of these actions cancels billing or removes calendar events you already imported.
Before you finish
- Open the app using its new Home Screen icon.
- Check that you can see your own account and records.
- Receive the scheduled test on this phone.
- Check credential expiration dates and reminder months.
- Use Complete backup to keep a copy of important records.
Cannot find the install option?
If you opened the link inside a text message, email, Facebook, or another app, copy fireemstrainingvault.com and paste it directly into Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. Browser menus vary, so look for the alternate wording above.
Use the same account to keep your saved records together; you do not need a second account. An internet connection is needed to sign in and reach your saved records. Contact support if you need help.
